Local Unit & Position Description:
You will be located on our Shanghai office and reporting to the Storage Technology Team Leader for APAC.
DNV’s APAC Storage Team is growing quickly to meet the expanding demand for energy storage advisory services in the region. We provide technical reivew and bankablity on products of PCS, battery cell and battery energy storage system.
In this role you will have a dual responsibility, focusing on both being actively involved in the delivery of (mostly) energy storage (BESS) related projects and actively supporting the development of the service portfolio for BESS.
You would be using your technical expertise for supporting your colleagues in the team with your knowledge on energy storage technologies, technical due diligence, conceptual design, technical specifications, procurement support, testing and commissioning across the APAC region.
Most of the work will be desk based, but (national and international) travel for site and customer factory visits will be required at times (estimated at 25% to 35% of your time, depending on the projects you are involved in).

We also support utilities, regulators, developers, owners and lenders with feasibility studies, technical due diligence, conceptual design & procurement support, and independent technical advisory services.
In this role you will have a dual responsibility, focusing on both being actively involved in the delivery of (mostly) energy storage (BESS) related projects and actively supporting the development of the service portfolio for BESS.
You would be using your technical expertise for supporting your colleagues in the team with your knowledge on energy storage technologies, technical due diligence, conceptual design, technical specifications, procurement support, testing and commissioning across the APAC region.

Main duties will include but are not limited to:
- Execute and/or manage energy storage related advisory projects, including technology review, technical due diligence, technical specifications, procurement support, testing and commissioning, report writing, presentations, courses, etc.
- Support the development and maintenance of services and products related to Energy Storage.
- Ensure distribution of knowledge amongst relevant colleagues.
- Build an internal network to gain and share knowledge and opportunities.
Position Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in a relevant subject
- 3+ years’ experience in the (renewable) energy sector and prefer 2+ years in the area of energy storage systems and applications
- Technical expertise in battery energy storage technology
- Dynamic and enthusiastic team player, co-operates with others, shares knowledge, experience and information, and supports others in pursuit of team goals
- Communicates and influences in a clear, open, active and honest manner (verbal and written) and seeks understanding of other views
- Proven ability to produce clear written reports and communicate verbally in English
Desirable qualifications include:
- 2+ years providing consultancy services
- Experience in Technical Due Diligence
- Familiar with testing & commissioning processes for battery energy storage projects
- Knowledge of transmission & distribution networks
- Knowledge of renewables (wind, PV) technology & project development
